Giving back - Trees That Count

Giving back - Trees That Count

We've donated 611 Native Trees since December 2021.

We've been looking for awhile, for the right charity or initiative to support and give back. So we're proud to say that every order, we'll donate $1 to Trees That Count, which have been planting Native Trees in New Zealand since 1990.

So why did we choose to give back to Trees That Count? The inevitable global warming impact on our environment and society is something we can't ignore. As a small business we look at ways how we can reduce our carbon footprint. Though we can't be perfect, small incremental changes will make an impact. There will be cases of us needing to use bubble wrap to protect fragile products, but we are reusing existing packaging.

Trees are important to tackling climate change - they absorb carbon. Not only do they store carbon away, they help to clean up waterways, reduce flood risks and provide a habit for our wild life. There are plenty of benefits to why we should be planting more native trees here .

We want to thank everyone who has supported Thea and followed along our journey. A lot has changed since we first started in 2016. We have supported the Breast Cancer Foundation previously as it was a charity that was close to our hearts. As a small business, we face rising costs with materials and inflation, but wanted to do something for our home. Even though we aren't a large corporate, any amount to give back is the right thing to do.

We feel so lucky and fortunate to have been able to donate these last few years and thank everyone for their support around this.

As we move forward in 2025, we are looking into other areas and ways to contribute to better causes in New Zealand.
